While other national sports associations are engaging in long intramurals that are damaging their sport, the leaders of one NSA are setting aside pride and ambition, and are getting together to promote the sport among the youth.
Philippine Amateur Baseball Association president Hector Navasero yesterday named Rodolfo "Boy" Tingzon, Jr., president of the Philippine Tot Baseball Foundation, Inc., as director for youth development in a bid to boost the association’s grassroots development program.
"I have appointed Boy Tingzon as director for youth development because he has shown in the past that he can help with his passion for baseball," said Navasero.
Sports officials viewed the appointment as a positive sign for the growth of baseball since it unifies for the first time two entities – the PTBFI and the PABA – for better integration and coordination of an intensive baseball program for the youth.  Joey Villar
