Montana, Hapee clash

Montana hopes to get back at Hapee as they clash today even as Ateneo-Pioneer tries to keep its flickering hopes alive in the semifinal round of the PBL Challenge Cup at the Makati Coliseum.

Coming off a 73-67 win over Ateneo-Pioneer last Saturday, the Jewellers tangle with the Teeth Sparklers at 5:30 p.m., looking for their eighth win against four losses.

Montana is currently in third place behind pacesetting Shark (9-2) and Welcoat (8-3).

But Hapee, bidding to crash the finals via the backdoor, is out to repeat its 51-46 win over Montana as it tries to avail itself of the league’s 4-of-5 incentive for a crack at the second finals berth.

Meanwhile, Ateneo-Pioneer tries to notch the first of four wins it needs for a playoff as it battles Blu Sun Power, in fourth place with 6-5 mark, in the 3:30 p.m. opener. — Joey Villar
