Lejano dominates practical shootfest

-
Former world junior champion Jeufro "Speedy Jag" Lejano of Top Gun/Guns Empire team closed out the year with a bang as he dominated the recently-concluded Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) 2000 Nationals.

Considered as one of the country’s best marksmen, the RP team mainstay ruled the open division even with the entry of more than a hundred talented shooters from all over the country.

Lejano, a key member of the team that sparked RP’s victory in last year’s World Shoot XII over powerhouse USA and Australia, posted the best total points of 931.9607 in winning the premier division of the shootfest held in honor of Cong. Jack Enrile.

" Maganda ang simula. Na-
sustain ko ang rhythm at momentum, kaya hanggang sa huling stage maganda ang ipinutok ko," said Lejano who finished second in the 1998 European Cup behind French Eric Grauffel.

Team Armscor’s Joseph Sy settled for runner-up honors booking the second best 853.6827 followed by Cebuano Bryant Yu who had a 848.2170 points.

Finishing fourth was Jerome Morales, who swept the last four PPSA tournaments that included the Northern Luzon and NCR Area meets, with 824.5638 while youthful Gerard Loy was fifth at 808.9540 points.

Completing the top 10 were AThena Lee ( 789.4011), Leonardo Martinez ( 786.8700), Frederick Mellana I 762.4219), Mike Brillantes ( 758.9640) and Ronnie Santos ( 752.5484).

At the same time Iraq and U.N. oil experts were trying to reach agreement on a pricing formula for December that would enable Baghdad to resume oil shipments. Iraq halted exports last week after the United Nations said its proposed prices were too low.

World oil prices have dropped in spite of Iraq’s stoppage, mainly because revolver division.
