HONG KONG The Philippines closed out their last international assignment on a high note when its mens team captured the bronze medal in the fourth leg of the Asian Archery Circuit at the Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground here yesterday.
The RP mens squad composed of veterans Oscar Briones and Christian Cubilla and new recruits Marvin Cordero and Bryan Carlo Figueroa, clobbered host Hong Kong-China A, 154-147, in the bronze medal match.
Earlier, the Philippines dumped Thailand, 227-213, in the quarterfinals before bowing to Japan, 225-239, in the semifinals.
The third place finish of the RP mens team somehow made up for its disappointing losses in their respective matches in the individual 70-meter event.
