Caloocan billiards set

"Minnesota Fats" (Rudolph Wanderone), the leading American brand and the most recognized name in billiards history , joins the "Search for Bata ng Caloocan" 9-Ball billiards competition slated May 21-23 at the Puyat Sports Center-Gotesco Grand Central.

Caloocan City Mayor Rey Malonzo, councilors Egay Erice and Dennis Padilla, event proponents, will lead the opening ceremony tomorrow at the ground level of the shopping mall. Padilla's spouse, Marjorie Baretto, and some of his showbiz friends, event sponsors and guests are also expected to attend the opening rites.

Sports Resources Inc., texclusive Philippine distributor of Minnesota Fats Billiards, will provide uniforms to players who will compete in the event's junior and senior divisions, games officials, secretariat staff, sponsors and special guest.s It will also provide Minnesota Fats professional cue sticks as additional prizes to the tournament's first and second place winners.

World-class billiard contender, Django Bustamante, has been invited to hold a special billiard clinic for local enthusiasts during the opening day.
