Pirates gain lead share

-

Pasig-Rizal clamped down on Cagayan de Oro in the second half as the Pirates pulled off a 94-85 road victory over the Amigos yesterday and gained a share of the lead in the MBA FedEx Crossover Cup at the Mindanao Polytechnic College gym in Cagayan de Oro City.

It was the Pirates' fourth straight victory, making them the first team to post such a streak in the season as they caught up with the idle Davao Eagles at the helm with similar 4-1 win-loss marks. The Amigos slid to 2-3.

Over at the Araullo Centrum, host Nueva Ecija rode high on the superb exploits of Willie Miller as the Patriots tripped the Negros Slashers, 117-99.

Miller had 30 points, eight rebounds and the same number of assists as the Patriots nailed their third win in seven outings. The Slashers fell to 2-3.
