CAGAYAN DE ORO - Luisita carded 240 to capture its eighth championship division crown in the 14th Philippine Airlines Senior Inter-Club yesterday.
Alex Montelibano carded a 73 at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club for 53 points in the Molave scoring to lead Luisita to the team title as well as the individual 36-hole crown.
Other Luisita scorers were Alan Gaston and Marcelo Alfonso with 48 points each, Lucio Yan, 46 and Carlo Gamban, 45. The Tarlac City bets had earlier shot 253 and wound up with 493 for a whopping 26-point victory.
"After failing to play last year, it's nice to come back and win again," said Luisita team captain Rudy Samson. "What makes this trophy very special is the fact that it's our eighth in 14 years."
Luisita was truly the biggest winner as 1997 national senior champion Montelibano bagged the 36-hole individual crown. He had earlier scored a 54 and ended with 107.
Wack Wack made a 242 to snatch second place with 467 while Riviera made 235 and settled for third place with 466.
