PRO-7 head commends NORPPO for P2 million drug confiscation
DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Chief Superintendent Debold Menorias Sinas, regional director of the Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7) visited the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NORPPO) and commended the operatives, “for a job well done,” in a drug raid at Barangay Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City.
Sinas however expressed alarm over the two kilos of shabu, worth P23.6 million, that the operatives— from NORPPO’s Provincial Intelligence Branch-Special Operations Group (PIB-SOG)— confiscated from the arrested drug trading suspect John Mark Abadilla.
“It’s quite alarming for two kilos of shabu to be going into your place. Good, in the sense that you have apprehended them,” he told the policemen, adding that amount of seized shabu “only showed there is massive transaction in the city and Negros Oriental.”
Awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan were: Senior Inspectors Armel Von Alegria and Vann Joel Tingson; Inspector Allen June Germodo; Police Officers 2 Archimedes Olasiman and Hans Christian Baguio.
Meanwhile, Sinas told NORPPO men, during a later dialogue with them at Camp Francisco Fernandez in Agan-an, Sibulan: “You have another threat in your midst, and that is the threat of the Communist Party of the Philippines.”
Sinas said he received reports that some policemen are having alliances with the rebels. “If ever such reports are verified and validated, we will make the life of that policeman to be miserable,” he said.
Sinas issued the warning in the wake of recent killings in Guihulngan City. He warned policemen who might be sleeping with the enemies — not just the NPA but with drug lords — to be very careful, as he pointed out that some of them have been identified already.
