P1.9 million shabu seized in 4 months this year
CEBU, Philippines — The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) reported that it hauled close to P1.9-million worth of shabu from 44 operations in the first four months of this year.
Senior Superintendent Angeles Geñorga, BPPO director, reported during the Provincial Peace and Order Council that, from January 1 to April 24, police operations resulted in the confiscation of a total of 160.07 grams of shabu worth P1,894,245, arrest of 60 suspects, and filing of 76 cases.
The biggest haul was recorded in February when 117.92 grams of shabu worth P1,391,456 were seized in 19 police operations. The lowest output was in January when only four police operations were conducted resulting in the arrest of four suspects, confiscation of a total of 11 grams of shabu worth P135,228, and filing of six cases.
In March, the police conducted seven operations that resulted in the arrest of 11 suspects, confiscation of 15.09 grams of shabu worth P178,062, and filing of 13 cases.
From April 1-24, the BPPO in 14 operations confiscated a total of 16.06 grams of shabu worth P189,508, arrested 18 suspects and filed 23 cases.
PDEA-Bohol chief Nicolas Gomez reported during the PPOC meeting that there are 565 of 1,109 barangays of the province that are still undergoing validation or endorsed to be declared drug-cleared.
There are 1,092 drug-affected barangays, and only 17 drug-free or unaffected. So far, there has been no barangay that has been declared drug-free by the oversight committee.
As to affectation in Bohol, there are 345 barangays that have been slightly affected, 747 moderately affected, 17 drug-free or unaffected, and zero seriously affected barangay. In entire Bohol, there are still 520 of the 1,109 barangays that have no submission yet, while there are 565 that are under validation and 24 for endorsement.
