302nd IBde to transfer to Bohol
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — As a result of the creation of Negros Island Region, the Philippine Army’s 302nd Infantry Brigade will be transferred to Bohol, according to Colonel Francisco Delfin, commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade,
Delfin confirmed that the 302nd IBde will be pulled out from Negros Oriental effective November 15, but its two battalions will still remain here.
Delfin also said his 303rd IBde will eventually have full jurisdiction of the NIR and will have four battalions under its command: The 47th Infantry Battalion in southern Negros Occidental, the 62nd IB in northern Negros Occidental, and the 11th IB and the 79th IB in Negros Oriental.
The people of Negros island however would have nothing to worry about due to the pull out of the 302nd IBde, because the 303rd IBde will still be here, in accordance with the Philippine Army’s thrust of one brigade per one island, Delfin added. —Marchel P. Espina (FREEMAN)
