P1M shabu seized in two buy-busts

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines –  A total of P1 million worth of shabu were seized and five suspects were arrested in two buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental, over the weekend.

Elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 on Saturday confiscated 115 grams of shabu, with an estimated market value of P700,000 during a drug bust at the City Heights Subdivision in Barangay Taculing, this city.

Arrested were Cedric Zayco, 46, of Barangay Mandalagan; Mirelan King of Barangay Taculing, both in this city; and Rafael Abella, 41, of Barangay Talongon in Bais City, Negros Oriental.

In another operation at Kabankalan City on Sunday, joint elements of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group and the City Police Office raided a pension house and arrested 40-year-old Alfredo Guadalupe III, of Kabankalan, and 39-year-old Dennis Guanzon, of Ilog town, both top drug personalities.

Senior Superintendent. Samuel Nacion, acting provincial director, said police seized from the suspects 50 grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P300,000.
