Seven PRO-8 officials to get rank promotions
PALO, LEYTE , Philippines — Seven officials of the Police Regional Office-8, with the rank of chief inspectors, will be officially promoted to a higher rank of superintendent during the oath taking and donning of ranks ceremony, to be held on Monday, simultaneously with those in other police headquarters nationwide.
General Order 1277, issued by the Philippine National Police in Camp Crame, showed that the seven chief inspectors of PRO-8 to be promoted superintendents are: Edwin Barbosa, Ramil Amodia, Leo Canono, Alex Dang-Aeon, Jonathan Momo, Landilino Katang-Katang and Michael Jude Dotingco.
A total of 573 personnel from the PRO-8 will also be among those who will be promoted to the next higher rank, 505 of them are non-commissioned officers.
Chief Superintendent Asher Dolina, PRO-8 regional director, said he was happy to have seven of his men included in the list of promoted policemen. This will help fill the lack of senior police officials in the region, needed in the field for operations especially in the 2016 elections, he said.
Dolina added that some police units in Eastern Visayas are still being headed by officials with lower ranks. (FREEMAN)
