PDEA-8 arrests mayor’s kin, aide of another mayor
CATARMAN, N. SAMAR, Philippines – A relative of San Roque town Mayor Don Avalon and a confidential assistant of Pambujan town Mayor Lino Balanquit were arrested over the weekend for allegedly peddling illegal drugs by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the police.
Rogellete Urgel, acting information officer of the PDEA-8, told interaksyon.com that both Adolfo Avalon, a job order employee of the Provincial Mining Regulatory Board, and Noime Lebeco Siervo, the aide of the mayor, were high on the agency’s watch-list of drug personalities.
Aside from P10,000 worth of shabu seized during the raid on Avalon’s home in San Roque, authorities also seized a .45-caliber pistol, a 9mm pistol, a .38-caliber revolver, a hand grenade and ammunition.
Avalon will also be facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition on top of those filed against him and Siervo for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2012. — From the wires
