Marchel P. Espina - The Freeman

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – A family outing turned tragic when four teenagers drowned in a beach in Cauayan town, Negros Occidental last January 2.

Police identified the victims as Stephanie Guimong, 15, and her sister, April Rose, 13, and their cousins Reynaldo Silvera, 13, and Jeselle Diaz, 14, all of Kabankalan City.

Police said the victims went for a swim at around 11 a.m. at Aurino Beach but was swept away due to the strong current.

Two hours later, the body of Diaz was recovered while Silvera's was found Saturday morning. Search and rescue operations were still ongoing for the missing siblings.
