Loboc River cruise returns
LOBOC, BOHOL, Philippines – The world-famous river cruising (photo at left) in this landlocked town, featuring the renowned Loboc Children's Band, had resumed operations.
Mayor Helen Alaba (right photo) said now is the time for Loboc to showcase the river cruise expedition again to bring in more tourists to Bohol, after the devastating magnitude-7.2 earthquake in October 15, last year.
Koreans dominate tourist arrivals who attended the re-launching of the floating restaurant that re-opened also the river cruising activity, as well as the zip-line extreme adventure across Loboc River.
The re-launching of the river cruising coincided with the opening of the concrete bridge that connects both sides of this river town, where the San Pedro Church was toppled down by last year's earthquake.
Alaba was thankful of the re-opening of the concrete bridge, replacing the old bailey bridge. It now connects the towns of Corella and Sikatuna, from Tagbilaran City, aside from the usual Tagbilaran-Loay coastal link.
Mayor Alaba said that tourist arrivals here have douled lately with the opening of the concrete bridge.
