TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines – City Councilor Alexander "Aleckoy" Herrera Lim, 63, died on Oct. 31, 2014 at past 2 p.m. at Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City due to a lingering ailment, Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso confirmed this in a radio interview yesterday.

Lim's passing came after his colleague, Councilor Oscar Butron Glovasa, died earlier.

Lim is survived by his wife, Elsie Trabajo-Lim and children, Koykoy, Alissa and Kitloy, who are all successful in their respective careers.

Veloso extended his condolence to the Lim family in behalf of the City Council, said Lim's death "is a great loss to the City Council.

The vice mayor said Lim was "fiscalizer" at the council,  a successful lawyer and served as a Provincial Board member during the time of then Governor Constancio "Nonoy" Chatto Torralba.

Meanwhile, the demise of Lim and Glovasa had created two vacancies in the City Council. This will be filled up by members of the political parties they were affiliated with, said Veloso.

Lim was a Liberal partymate of incumbent Councilor Betty Torralba, and the two won in the 2013 elections under the Dodong Gonzaga-Veloso team.

Glovasa, on the other hand, was Nationalist People's Coalition stalwart who won in last year's election under the Abraham Lim-Jas Montes ticket.
