150 tablets, iPads given to Tacloban school pupils

CEBU, Philippines- One hundred Samsung tablets and 50 iPad minis were turned over to the pupils of Marasbaras Elementary School in Tacloban City recently.

Also, 15 units of 46G pocket wifis were given to provide the pupils with Internet connection. The donation was part of the e.Studyante education program of Procter & Gamble Philippines, intended to help schoolchildren cope with the technological demands of their studies.

The turnover was done at Robinsons Place-Tacloban that had just reopened after Yolanda devastated the city last year or about eight months ago.

The e.Studyante program, according to P&G Philippines, was a way of thanking the people for their loyalty to the company and its products, for the past 79 years, by helping raise the standard of education of schoolchildren and improve their lives.

Robinson’s, which also advocated for improving the quality of life of Filipinos, went into a partnership with P&G’s education program. It said: “the growth of the company is founded on pillars of value, creation and innovation. Through the e.Studyante program, these principles are instilled into the minds of the Marasbaras pupils.” PR
