Cybersex den raid: Four women arrested
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Four women were arrested by the police during a raid of an alleged cybersex den at La Paz district in this city on Thursday.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit-Region 6 collared Helen Delotabo, 57, the owner of the house, Cherryl Gadong, 23, and Marry Joy Gerapista, 28, both residents of Tapaz town in Capiz.
A fourth suspect, a 16-year-old girl, was caught in the act of performing lewd acts in front of a laptop.
Superintendent Peter Naboye, chief of CIDU-6, said Gadong and Gerapista could also be into cybersex chat but the two had their clothes on in front of a laptop when the raiding team arrived.
At around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, CIDU-6 detectives and operatives of the Regional Intelligence Unit-6 searched Delotabo house at Barangay Sinikway by virtue of a search warrant issued Executive Judge Loida Maputol of the Regional Trial Court-6 of Iloilo.
Naboye believed that the cybersex den operation has been going on for some time now before a CIDU-6 asset learned about it.
Reports had it that customers were made to pay US$50 per minute for a woman to perform lewd show via webcam.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
Cybersex is the "willful engagement, maintenance, control or operation, directly or indirectly, of any lascivious exhibition of sexual organs or sexual activity, with the aid of a computer, for favor or consideration." (FREEMAN)
