Korina visits Ormoc, distributes slippers

ORMOC CITY, Philippines — Thousands of pupils and their mothers in two schools of this city were the recipients of pair of slippers and school supplies, distributed by ABS-CBN's Rated K host and The Freeman columnist Korina Sanchez.

Korina visited the schools of Bgys Tambulilid and San Pablo and personally distributed a total of 1,200 pairs of slippers to the excited children, and rice packs and bracelets to their mothers.

Though the stocks did not run out, the sizes did so. Korina gave money for a pupil, who had no slipper size to fit, to buy one for himself instead.

Korina also visited Mayor Edward Codilla before proceeding to the Ormoc District Hospital where she donated cribs. She said her visit was one way of showing that she and husband, Sec. Mar Roxas, care for the Visayas. "My husband is also a Bisayan," she said.
