Couple, apo die in road accident

CEBU, Philippines - A couple and their granddaughter died when the motorcycle they were riding collided with an owner-type jeep along the national highway at Barangay Buyu-an in Tigbauan town of Iloilo Sunday afternoon.

Police report identified the fatalities as Ramon Navarro Jr., 52, of  Rizal Pala-Pala in Iloilo City, his wife Aniceta, 59, and their granddaughter, Margaret. They just came from Igbaras town and were on their way home to the city when the accident happened.

They were rushed to Guimbal District Hospital but were declared dead on arrival due to head injuries.

The police said the jeep was driven by Fritz Durano, 37, of Barangay Anono-o in Guimbal town, who was also on his way home when the steering wheel of his vehicle (plate no. FVE-711) suddenly locked, causing the jeep to crash headlong into the motorcycle (reg. plate no. 3961-OA) of  the victims.  (FREEMAN)
