TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — Flordelis B. Menzon, a former regional director of Pag-IBIG-Region 8, was re-elected chairperson of the Perpetual Help Credit Cooperative Inc., during its 45th General Assembly and annual election yesterday evening at the City Astrodome.

The other elected officers were lawyer Teresita Rojas, as 1st vice president, and Evelyn Clarin, as 2nd vice president.

Elected directors of the board were Luisa Quebec, Leo Camposano, Reynario Ma.Quintero and Adoracion Peregrino, while Ma. Jenny Advincula is director for the youth, Thelma Concepcion is election committee officer and Ma. Rosanna Celebrado is audit committee head.

Menzon, in her speech, said PHCCI had extended relief assistance, such as blankets and mosquito nets, to Yolanda victims, and offered housing loans to help the members rebuild their Yolanda-destroyed houses.

“PHCCI has been making a difference in the lives of  Yolanda victims because of its loan program, with very low interests, which helps reduce poverty and do away with loan sharks in the community,” she said.

Menzon further announced that a 3-storey building will be constructed for PHCCI’s education center for skills training of its youth members. The cooperative has been a recipient of many awards for various agencies for its “good performance and excellent services,” she added. — Contributed article
