Man shoots daughter, 7

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The 44-year-old father accidentally shot and wounded his 7-year-old daughter following a heated argument with his wife and in-law at their house in Barangay Inolingan, Moises Padilla town of Negros Occidental, last Thursday.

Senior Inspector Edfil Balibadlan, Moises Padilla Police chief, said the father was drunk at the time and, during the confrontation, took his gun and fire it, but the bullet hit his daughter in the back and kidney.

The girl is now confined at a hospital in this city, while the father was detained at the town’s police station, facing charges for illegal possession of firearms. (FREEMAN)
