NCCA oks proposal to declare Bacolod public plaza, cathedral as historical sites

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines   â€” The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) had approved the proposal to consider historical sites, the Bacolod Public Plaza and the San Sebastian Cathedral.

This development was announced by City Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez, author of the resolution, who said that there were about 25 requirements the city government must comply first leading to the NCCA declaration.

Lopez said he now needs the support of government agencies to finally realize this, and urged the City Engineers Office and the City Planning and Development Office to provide the necessary documents.

The councilor added that he will meet with Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra on the matter.  (FREEMAN)
