Canadians eye investments in Iloilo, Guimaras
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Philippine Ambassador to Canada Leslie Gatan the other day said Iloilo and Guimaras have lots of investment and tourism potentials that could draw more businessmen to invest here.
"We look up some competitive advantage of what this region could offer which could not be offered by other regions in the country," he said during the Investment Fair forum with more than 300 Filipino-Canadian delegates at the Royal Garden Hall Convention Center in this city last Tuesday.
Gatan said the business tour, which was under the tourism project of the Local Government Support Program (LGSP) with the Canadian International Development Agency and the Canadian Urban Institute was aimed at promoting tourism and investment potentials of different regions in the country.
He added the business delegates were also here to study about the tourism investment of the Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Economic Development Council, especially those projects under the LGSP for Local Economic Development.
The LGSP-LED is an eight-year collaborative project of the Governments of Canada and the Philippines from 2008 to 2016. — (FREEMAN)
