Feces thrown at Aksyon Radyo's bldg
ILOILO CITY , Philippines — A diversion from the usual: From bullets to feces, which were thrown into a building by four motorcycle riders.
The excrement was hurled at the Carlos Uy Building, which houses Manila Broadcasting Co.'s Aksyon Radyo-Iloilo, along B. Aquino Ave. In Mandurriao district of this city, at around 3:05 a.m. yesterday.
Footage from the radio station's CCTV showed that two riding-in-tandems stopped by in front of the building. They were carrying four plastic bags, which they later tossed into the building's fence.
The men, whose faces were allegedly covered, immediately fled toward the City Proper district area.
The feces-throwing episode happened a day after Aksyon Radyo reporter Jonavin "Jhey-R" Villalva was shot just outside his house at Cuartero Highway in Jaro district.
Villalva is still confined at the hospital after he suffered two injuries on his ankle and toe.
The radio station's management believed that their critical commentaries on illegal drugs are the roots of these attacks.
But John Paul Tia, station manager of Aksyon Radyo Iloilo, vowed to continue their crusade, although he was a bit puzzled on why the assailants targeted Villalva and not the station's commentators. (FREEMAN)
