Truck falls off ravine: 2 killed, 8 hurt

CEBU, Philippines - Two persons were killed while eight others were injured when their truck plunged into a ravine in Maayon town of Capiz.

Reports said those who died on the sport were Ramon Denoy, 45, of Brgy. Balatucan in Panitan town of Capiz, and Roel Andrada 35, of Sunshine Subdivision in Brgy. Banica of Roxas City.

Injured were Albert Gonzales, Edgar Condino, Jimmy Decara, Johnson Depecto, Jason Gonzales, Kevin Condino, Roger Balsomo and truck driver Andy Amorado.

Police said 37-year-old Amorado, of Brgy. Balatucan in Panitan, lost control of the truck while negotiating a blind curve at Brgy. Parallan. The truck turned turtle after it tumbled into the cliff.

The victims were on their way to Roxas City after it delivered cement and sand and gravel for an infrastructure project in Maayon town.  (FREEMAN)
