P1M fire hits shoe store

Danny B. Dangcalan - The Freeman

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A fire hit a shoe store at the downtown area in this city Monday morning, resulting in the loss of about P1-million worth of products.

Inspector Publio Ploteña, deputy fire marshall of the city's BFP, said the fire started at the storage room at the 3rd floor of the Unison Shoe Emporium, owned by Eduardo Khia, facing the old City Hall.

Ploteña said the fire may have been caused by faulty electrical connections, but investigation was still going on. No casualties or injuries were reported, he added.  (FREEMAN)
