Espulgar assumes 19th IB command

KANANGA, LEYTE, Philippines – A turnover of command was held last Monday at the 19th Infantry Battalion camp at Brgy. Aguiting of this town, with Lt. Col. Nedy Espulgar taking over the top post from Lt. Col. Joel Alejandro Nacnac.

The turnover ceremony was administered by Maj. Gen. Gerardo Layug, 8th Infanty Division commander.

Nacnac, in his valedictory address, said his 19th IB stint had pushed him to the limit and made him a better person. He also thanked and commended his men, the church, community and the media who helped him through his administration of the command.

Espulgar, for his part, vowed to continue raising the morale and welfare of  the 19th  IB soldiers, assuring them that their rights will be acknowledge and respected. He also will continue the efforts of Nacnac in the attainment of peace in the command’s area of responsibility.

Among those present during the event were Mayors Elmer Codilla of this town, Edward Codilla of Ormoc City, Charita Chan of Babatngon town, Federico Carolino of Capoocan and Deo Delusa of Dagami, Appellate Justice Vicente Veloso, Leyte PB Member Allan Ang, and Reps. Andres Salvacion Jr. (2nd district) and Lucy Torres Gomez (4th district). (FREEMAN)
