Rep. Golez faces breach of contract
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines -- Outgoing Rep. Anthony Rolando Golez Jr. (lone district, Bacolod) is facing a complaint from the owners of a house he rented here for alleged breach of contract by using the place as a campaign headquarters, instead of just a residence.
Golez, former spokesperson of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and his father, Rolando Golez Sr., reportedly rented the house of spouses Jose Luis and Jennifer Kilayko at Mountainview Subdivision Phase 1 in Brgy. Mandalagan on Oct. 1 last year to be used as a residence, based on their lease agreement.
But to the surprise of the house owners, they found out sometime in January this year that their house had been turned into a campaign headquarters.
The Kilaykos also discovered last May 30 that their house which the Golezes rented was padlocked. So on the same day, the spouses filed a complaint against the congressman and his father for breach of contract before the Bacolod Police Station 8.
The spouses also added in the blotter report the Golezes misused their residence as the two air-conditioning units in the house were damaged and two beds were vandalized.
The lawmaker could not be reached through his cellphone despite attempts to get his side, while his father was reportedly out of the country.
