Bacolod cops, using FB, catch Catanduanes’ 2nd most wanted
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The police turned to social networking site Facebook to trace a man tagged as the No. 2 most wanted person in Catanduanes province, and eventually arrest him in this city last Wednesday.
Domingo Tablo, 52, of Brgy. Sta. Elena, Virac town in Catanduanes was arrested while refueling at a gasoline station in this city, according to Senior Insp. Richie Gohee, Station 5 chief.
Tablo was apprehended on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Virac Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Lelu Contreras, who denied him bail, Gohee said.
Police records show that Tablo was at-large for shooting dead his younger brother Maximo last year, over a land conflict and immediately fled to Negros Occidental, where the family of his wife lives.
The wife of the younger Tablo sought the help of Cadiz City Jail warden, Insp. Alexander Sy, who, in turn, coordinated with Gohee for the arrest of the suspect.
Gohee said they searched for the name of the suspect’s daughter on Facebook, and through the pictures posted there, learned that he was living at Brgy. 35 in Bacolod.
Senior Insp. Jose Micheal Aurelio of the Catanduanes Provincial Police Office had issued a certification that the elder Tablo has been the province’s 2nd most-wanted personality.
The suspect will be fetched up by the Catanduanes police and brought back to their province, Gohee said. (FREEMAN)
