9-year fugitive caught in Ormoc

ORMOC CITY, Philippines – A 37-year-old man, who has been wanted for homicide and in hiding for nine years now, was arrested by the City Police last Wednesday evening at his residence at sitio Panalian in Brgy. Ipil, this city.

Compounding his crime was the discovery of a small packet of marijuana in his possession after he was subjected to a body search before being detained at the police station.

The suspect, Romeo Solano said he hid in Manila and just returned to the city about six months ago. He knew he had a warrant for his arrest but was hoping people had forgotten about it, much more that the complainants against him were already dead.

The police said they would also file now a case of illegal possession of marijuana against Solano. (FREEMAN)
