NGCP: P349M power expansion in Visayas to be completed in March
CEBU, Philippines - The P349-million power expansion project venture of the National Grid Corp. Philippines (NGCP) in the Visayas is expected to be completed in March this year, said the NGCP management in a PNA report yesterday.
The project includes the expansion of the Visayas Substation I with the installation of a 50-megavolt ampere (MVA) transformer in Kabankalan City, also in Calung-calung Substation in Cebu, the NGCP said.
For its Leyte expansion in Ormoc Substation, NGCP is installing 100 MVA that will accommodate the growth and demand and facilitate the efficient and reliable delivery of electrical power in Visayas.
The NGCP also vowed to invest P24 billion for its Leyte-Mindanao power project, which it hopes to start in 2017.
NGCP’s expansion project is the management’s flagship program in transmitting high-voltage electricity under its “power superhighways†program.
NGCP is a privately owned corporation in-charge of operating, developing and maintaining the country’s power grid. (FREEMAN)
