TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines – Marilou “Malot” Galenzoga, the mayoralty candidate in Baybay City, was one of the guests personally invited by Rep. Ferdinand Martin “FM” Romualdez when the latter celebrated his 49th birthday yesterday (November 14).
FM, in his message, expressed gratitude to the people of Leyte, and hinted his support for Galenzoga’s quest for the top post in Baybay.
“I couldn’t thank you more, your presence truly deserves appreciation. I feel recharged whenever I am here (in Leyte),” he told Galenzoga and the crowd that attended the event.
Galenzoga, in a side interview with The Freeman, disclosed that Baybay City’s incumbent mayor will soon face another case as another concerned citizen is now poised to do so, after a graft case was filed earlier against the mayor at the Ombudsman-Visayas in Cebu.
“The Baybayanons are now coming out of their shells in order to be heard. They are eager to see the ‘kausaban’ (change) everybody has been dreaming for a long time,” she said.
When asked about the legitimacy of the documents used in the complaints, Galenzoga declared that complainants and would-be complainants against the mayor are not fabricating their accusations because the facts “were based from government documents, COA for example.” —(FREEMAN)
