Santacruzan Fest kicks off today

DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines - The Santacruzan Festival organized by the local government through the City Tourism Office will kick off today with a mass at the Cathedral.

The City Tourism Office has prepared a series of events that would set the town abuzz with excitement to attract tourists and visitors to come and be a part of the celebration. The activities will also be interspersed with religious events at the Church, especially novena masses which will be sponsored by the city government offices. 

This year’s Santacruzan Festival has a theme “A Celebration of Virtues”. It will be filled with activities for the whole month of May.

The lineup of activities for the occasion includes: Inter-Barangay Search for Singing Idol at the Quezon Park tomorrow at 7:00 o’clock in the evening; Department of Foreign Affairs Mobile Passporting at the Robinson’s Mall; Opening of National Heritage Month at the Robinson’s Mall; Inter-Barangay Dance Competition at the Quezon Park; Santacruzan Kayak Festival; Heritage Month Indigenous Cultural Show at Robinson’s Mall; Inauguration of Dumaguete City Port Island Signage Kasikas and Festival of Lights Display at the Boulevard; Santacruzan Parade and Street Dance; Grand Festival Showdown and Philippine National Games Opening at the Macias Sports Complex; Kapuso Night at the Quezon Park; and Santacruzan Grand Procession.
