P4.6M lost in Bacolod school fire

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A total of P4.6 million was lost to a 10-minute fire that razed the Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) building in this city Tuesday night, authorities said.

The losses include about P3 million in public and private properties, and P1.6 million in payroll money intended for teachers’ salaries, reports said.

Fire Officer 3 Cornelio Silva of the Bureau of Fire Protection said investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

No person was injured from the fire, Silva added. - THE FREEMAN
