TAGBILARAN CITY, Philippines – The government needs more the collaboration of non-government organizations in undertaking development programs and projects.
This was the message of Bohol Provincial Board Member Benjie Arcamo during the general assembly and policy review for NGO accreditation held at a restaurant in this city.
“We need you for more collaboration,” Arcamo told NGO officials and representatives. The PB official re represented Vice Governor Concepcion Lim who failed to attend despite the invitation.
Governor Edgar Chatto, in his speech during the event, also reiterated the call for more partnership from NGOs to achieve the vision and mission of the provincial government as detailed in the development framework plan.
Chatto told the NGOs that his administration further sought consultations from them, and to get feedbacks as a way of reaching out to the constituents.
The governor further reminded that every NGO must follow the guidelines and the law on NGO’s accreditation, as provided for by the Local Government Code of 1991. - THE FREEMAN
