Kidnapping raps readied vs nanny
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The police are readying kidnapping charges which may be filed today (Friday) against a nanny and her accomplice for the alleged abduction of the 1-year-old son of her employer in Brgy. Tangub last Saturday.
Inspector Jovy Cabcaban, chief of the Bacolod City Police Office’s Women and Children’s Complaints Desk, said they are only waiting for the extra-judicial confession of the 17-year-old nanny (name withheld), who is from Calatrava town of Negros Occidental.
Cabcaban said the nanny is expected to divulge in her extra-judicial confession the identity of her accomplice who reportedly ordered her to kidnap the boy in exchange for a cellular phone and P5,000.
The nanny also claimed the accomplice also threatened to kill her aunt if she refused, said Cabcaban, adding that the accomplice has a carnapping case filed against him at the City Prosecutor’s Office earlier.
Although the abduction was foiled, the police will still file the charges because all the elements of the crime of kidnapping have been present in the case, said Cabcaban.
The police arrested the nanny while on board a tricycle along the highway in Brgy. Bata in this city, Cabcaban said. - THE FREEMAN
