19th IB launches Pamaskong Handog
CARIGARA, LEYTE, Philippines — The 19th Infantry Battalion, through its peace and development teams, started its Pamaskong Handog activity for the poor residents of this town in Leyte with the distribution of medicines for the treatment of common colds and asthma cases.
Lieutenant Col. Francis Cabugon, commanding officer of the 19th IB, went to the Town Hall where he announced to the members and officials of the Association of Barangay Councils the availability of the medicines at the Alpha Company headquarters in Barangay Tinaguban.
Cabugon told them that the distribution of medicines would be directly handed over to the intended patients, and that indigents shall be the priority. He also called for the support of other agencies, NGOs and the local government of Carigara for the Pamaskong Handog.
The provincial government, through Gov. Jericho Petilla, had already donated three boxes of medicines and more will be coming from the An Waray party-list, said Cabugon. (FREEMAN)
