- Danny B. Dangcalan -

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The Bacolod Clergy will stage a musical concert on Friday, November 25 at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum featuring 18 dancing priests and 22 ‘front line’ singers with seminarians and religious women.

Dubbed as “The Priest: His life, a celebration” the concert aims to raise funds for the medical care and well-being of retired and ailing priests of the diocese, a project of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Bacolod Priests’ Care Office.

Directed by well-known choreographer Rene Hinojales who also directed the two previous concerts of the Bacolod clergy. The concert will feature the acclaimed Diocesan Dancing Dudes and special guest, DJP Trio, Pilipinas Got Talent finalist; and the Negros Occidental Women Religious Association.

Keyboardist Jico Monte will be the music director, and the concert will be directed by well-known choreographer Rene Hinojales, who also directed the two previous events by the Clergy.

Diocesan Chancellor Fr. Jude Serfino added the concert is also a part of the Golden Anniversary of Bishop Vicente Navarra as a priest.

A Matinee presentation is set at 1:30 p.m. featuring dance and song medleys and several Philippine and foreign songs, with presentation by the seminarians of the Sacred Heart Seminary.

The Gala performance will be at 7 p.m. featuring dance and song medleys of the matinee and over a dozen more hits both in English and Filipino.
