Dumaguete joins int'l coastal cleanup drive

DUMAGUETE CITY ,Philippines - The city government leads today, Sept. 17, the cleaning of the city's coasts, waterways and inland waters in observance of the 25th International Coastal and Waterways Clean-up Drive Day every 3rd week of September.
Steve Gabriel, city information officer, said government employees and volunteers pick up wastes along shorelines and waterways to increase awareness of a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.
Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria urged everybody to help maintain the cleanliness of the coastal areas in the city.
