TAGBILARAN CITY ,Philippines — Preparations are afoot for the upcoming International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) on September 17 following the meeting last week of the Bohol Coastal Resource Management Task Force (BCRMTF) headed and presided over by Nestor Canda, officer-in-charge, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).
Areas of assignment where the participating multi-sectoral groups are to be designated were already drawn, said the Bohol Environment Management Office (BEMO) as the secretariat.
Hinterland towns were also enjoined to partake of the event even as they do not have sea water but only rivers in their respective turfs.
There are about 55 national agencies and 16 regular departments and attached offices of the governor's office are set to participate in the clean-up efforts. Others include 17 academic institutions, 12 private commercial firms, 15 non-government organizations and six civic organizations, based on the list prepared by BEMO.
