Bacolod flyover inauguration date postponed

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Mayor Evelio Leonardia will not be around today (August 4) for the original date of the flyover inauguration so the organizers have postponed it to a later date, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) said in a press release yesterday.

“The inauguration was originally set Thursday, August 4, but with Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia (being) out of the country, the organizers decided to move it later,” the PIA-Bacolod said.  

On Monday, Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez said the inauguration of the flyover in Brgy. Bata on Thursday has been postponed to a later date so President Benigno Aquino III can attend the rites.

A staff of Golez sent a text message to the media, quoting Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Emil Sadain who informed Golez that the Presidential Management Staff and the DPWH have decided to postpone the inauguration. - THE FREEMAN
