Nutri-fit walk in Dumaguete

CEBU, Philippines - More than 1,000 participants (right photo) led by Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria (left photo), the City Council led by Vice Mayor Alan Gel Cordova, City Hall employees, barangay officials, establishment, teachers and students from public and private school in the schools in the city joined the Nutri-Fit Walk around the city Sunday morning.

Lourdes Taburasa, City Nutrition action officer, said the activity was in celebration of this year's Nutrition Month, which focuses on the theme "Isulong ang Breastfeeding-Tama, Sapat, at Eksklusibo."

Sagarbarria, in his message, thanked the participants for joining the activity saying that the city government is supportive of the nutrition programs for Dumagueteños.         

Other activities for the whole-month celebration: July 12 and 14-Nutrition Caravan at South City Elementary School in barangay Mangnao and Magsaysay Memorial Elementary School; July 22-Well Baby Contest at the Robinson mall, Inter-High School Oratorical Contest, food fair, and Inter-barangay booth contest, among others. — THE FREEMAN
