Iloilo City prepares for PNoy's 1st visit as president

ILOILO CITY , Philippines  – The City government is now busy preparing for President Benigno Aquino III’s first visit as a president to the metropolis on Friday, April 1.

City Administrator Norlito Baustista said Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has already ordered the total clean-up of plazas and streets, and proper solid waste management for the presidential visit.

The chief executive has instructed the General Services Office to mobilize street sweepers especially in areas where the President will pass by.

The Special Services Unit was also tasked to ensure the strict enforcement of all ordinances, especially against littering and jaywalking.

PNoy, who is expected to be accompanied by some cabinet members, is scheduled to inaugurate the 264-MW coal-fired power plant of Panay Energy Development Corporation in Brgy. Ingore, La Paz.
