Council okays city legal officer appointment

CEBU, Philippines - The Ormoc City Council has approved the appointment of Augustine Vestil Jr. as city legal officer, a post which had been vacant since 2004. His appointment is co-terminus with that of the mayor's whose third term ends on June 2013.

Vestil, who will 38 years old on July this year, is from Cebu City and married to Anna Marie Sarsoza, sister of Municipal Trial Court judge Ana Leza Sarsoza-Radaza.

He was a graduate of Mass Communications in UP before he took up law at the same university. He has a master of laws from the Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan.

For his new post, Vestil will get P39,000 per month, and representation and transportation allowance (RATA) of P11,000 per month. (FREEMAN)
