2 drown while swimming at beach resort

DUMAGUETE CITY — Two men drowned yesterday afternoon while swimming at a beach resort in Bacong town of southern Negros Oriental.

Police identified the victims as Michael Inoferio, 22, from Barangay Liptong of Valencia town, and Jovie Rocamora, 22, from Brgy. Bong-bong of Valencia town.

Witnesses, according to a police report, said the two were last seen swimming at the beach, and suddenly disappeared.

Search and retrieval operation were conducted immediately by the Negros Oriental Rescue team.

Inoferio's body was retrieved and immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead-on-arrival. As of press time, rescue operations were still trying to find the body of Rocamora. — (FREEMAN)
