BACOLOD CITY , Philippines - - A total of P106,887,300 is set to be released this month by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Negros Oriental.
DSWD-6 regional director Minda Brigoli, said the money would be distributed among 13,667 family-beneficiaries of the 4Ps in eight cities and 12 towns in the province.
Brigoli said the release of the cash grants will be facilitated by the LandBank of the Philippines (LBP) through an over-the-counter offsite payment.
The eight cities and their corresponding fund allocation are as follows:
Sipalay with over P4.36 million for 1,225 beneficiaries; Bacolod with over P4.31 million (for 1,224 beneficiaries); Cadiz with over P1.7 million (for 487); San Carlos with over P1.593 million (for 434); Sagay with over P1.592 million (for 469); Escalante with over P1.443 million (for 422); Himamaylan with over P1.43 million (for 401); and Kabankalan with P1.827 million (for 477).
The towns with the biggest allocation are Cauayan with over P22.7 million for 1,813 beneficiaries, followed by Isabela with P11.35 million (for 1,220 beneficiaries), and Moises Padilla with over P11.06 million (for 1,193).
The other towns and their corresponding outlays are as follows: Don Salvador Benedicto with P6.242 million (for 529 beneficiaries); La Castellana with over P6 million (for 485); Candoni with over P4.8 million (for 520); Binalbagan with over P4.6 million (for 476); Murcia with over P4.5 million (for 468); Manapla with P4.432 million (for 470); EB Magalona with over P4.3 million (for 467); Toboso with P4.205 million (for 449); and Hinoba-an with over P4.1 million (for 438).
Brigoli said the 4Ps is "an investment in human capital through the provision of conditional cash grants to poor families for their health and the education of their children aged 14 years old and below.
It provides assistance of P500 a month per family for health and nutrition and another P300 per child for a maximum of three children per school month for education over a period of five years.
Beneficiaries, however, must comply with the program conditions to continuously avail of the cash grants, she said.
