Police visibility strengthened for schools

CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7) is maintaining police visibility in schools across Central Visayas as year-end activities increase ahead of the holiday season.

Police personnel are maintaining visibility in and around school premises, particularly during the arrival and dismissal of students, school activities, and year-end gatherings.

PRO-7 said the continued police presence is intended to ensure that students, teachers, school personnel, and administrators can readily seek assistance from authorities whenever security concerns arise.

Police units are also coordinating with school administrators and local authorities in preparation for year-end programs and other activities related to the holiday season.

According to PRO-7, the coordination is aimed at addressing security concerns and ensuring the orderly conduct of activities involving students, parents, teachers, and other members of the school community.

The regional police office is also preparing for increased movement of people in schools and communities as the holiday season draws closer.

PRO-7 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Arnold Abad said police personnel will continue working with school officials to address security concerns and maintain police visibility.

“The safety of our students and school communities remains a priority. We will sustain our police presence and coordination with schools so they can carry out their activities with confidence, knowing that our personnel are visible, accessible, and ready to respond when needed,” Abad said.

Abad reminded students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to remain alert and immediately report suspicious activities and security concerns to the police.

PRO-7 said the initiative forms part of the PNP’s “Bagong PNP Para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman”, which promotes visible and responsive police service. – BRP (CEBU NEWS)
