Manila, Philippines - Nauwi sa trahedya ang training exercise sa pagtalon mula sa helicopter matapos na masawi ang isang tauhan ng Philippine Air Force na sinasabing hindi bumuka ang parachute nito sa Clark Airfield, Pampanga kamakalawa ng hapon.
Kinilala ni Philippine Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. Miguel Ernesto Okol ang nasawi si Master Sergeant Samuel Nagac ng 770 Special Operations and Combat Support Group.
Basag ang bungo ni Nagac at nagkabalibali ang buto matapos bumagsak sa lupa.
Si Nagac ay ikalawa sa limang jumper sa Capability Training in Airborne Operations ng Philippine Air Force.
“The training staff established that all phases of the training adhered to strict safety standards and the accident was an isolated case,” ani Okol.
Kaugnay nito, ipinag-utos na ni PAF Chief Lt. Gen. Oscar Rabena ang masusing imbestigasyon.
“Lt. Gen. Rabena, immediately ordered an inquiry to thoroughly investigate the cause of the accident. He also directed authorities to extend and facilitate help even as he expressed his condolences to the family of the victim,” pahayag ng opisyal.
