P89.9 bilyong sobrang pondo ng PhilHealth gagamitin sa ekonomiya
MANILA, Philippines — Malaking tulong para mapalakas ang ekonomiya ang balak ng Department of Finance na gamitin ang sobrang P89.9 bilyong pondo ng PhilHealth.
Ayon kay Albay Second District Representative Joey Salceda, sa halip na nakatambay lamang ang pondo, mas makabubuting gamitin na lamang ito.
Paliwanag ni Salceda, mas makabubuting gamitin na lamang ng unprogrammed appropriations kaysa mangolekta ng bagong buwis.
“Low government spending reduces growth. Reduced growth creates poverty. Poverty creates hunger. Hunger creates disease,” pahayag ni Salceda.
Sinabi pa ni Salceda na ang sobrang pondo ng PhilHealth ay galing sa buwis ng taong bayan at hindi ng koleksyon ng mga miyembro.
“If there is still excess money, it suggests that we have allocated too much in subsidies. It’s more prudent to use this surplus taxpayer money for other urgent needs rather than accumulating new debt with interest,” pahayag ni Salceda.
